What is the “Coperto”?

The Italian "coperto" is a traditional cover charge applied per person when

dining in. It contributes to the cost of preparing and maintaining your

table: tableware, bread, oil, parmesan, sauces and gluten free bread.

Unlike a tip, it’s a standard charge and is shown on the menu.

Das italienische „Coperto“ ist ein traditionelles Gedeckgeld, das pro

Person beim Verzehr im Restaurant berechnet wird. Es deckt die Kosten

für die Vorbereitung und Bereitstellung des Tisches ab, einschließlich

Geschirr, Brot, Öl, Parmesan, Saucen und glutenfreiem Brot. Im

Gegensatz zum Trinkgeld handelt es sich um eine feste Gebühr, die auf
